Jan. 29 – New York and Miami welcome Italian wine: “Vinitaly in the World”, the project initiated by Veronafiere to promote the excellence of Italian wines in the world, is now in the United States under a new name: “Vinitaly International”. The re-branding expresses the determination to further validate the role of the event as an ambassador and partner for the development of national businesses around the world, through the activation of a strong institutional and commercial network. The new name debuted yesterday at the first event in the US of the 2013 season. The second event is planned for tomorrow in Miami. Today, 15 years after the debut in China, in 1998, the exhibition touches most countries in the world, and the main important and strategic international markets such as the United States, Russia, Japan and Hong Kong. The new brand gives immediately the international scope of the event, and consolidates the concrete and strategic support to the international activities of domestic producers. Vinitaly International is a particularly effective trading platform for the promotion and the export of its products through the creation of a regular dialogue system between domestic companies, government agencies and key international players. The first two stages of Vinitaly International touch the U.S. market, which today sees Italy as the first exporter of wine in the U.S., with a market share in the first nine months of 2012 that grew by 7.2% over the previous year. The U.S. is a market expected to gradually increase its consumption by 2.4% per year until 2016.
