Mar. 19 – Two additional international success for “Il Turno di Notte lo Fanno le Stelle” and the Trentino Film Commission: after being shortlisted for the Oscars, the short by Edoardo Ponti, based on Erri De Luca’s story-writing, will represent Italy at the next edition of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, founded by Robert De Niro (among others) in 2002. “Il Turno di Notte lo Fanno le Stelle” is also about to receive the film journalists special prize of Cortinametraggio, a short film festival that takes place in Cortina d’Ampezzo and is sponsored by SNGCI, the National Union of Italian Film Journalists. Its National Executive Board’s thus praises the film: “For the excitement and professionalism that it transmits to the audience, because the film gently, even introspectively, narrates the climb of a life time, a personal challenge with oneself, nature and life. As a movie without special effects, the film brings to the surface the challenge of an old promise, as a story of survival, it correctly uses the metaphoric symbolism of being on the brink of a precipice.”
