Apr. 10 – The strategic use of structural funds and of four film funds to support the audiovisual industry make the Apulia Film Commission, a foundation that deals with services related to film production in Puglia, a European model of “best practices” to be exported throughout Europe. For this reason, the Regional Committee in Brussels invited representatives of the Apulia Film Commission at the conference on the economic strategies of Europe 2020, in particular for the meeting on “smart cities and regions that support development clusters and industrial competitiveness.” The conference is the third of seven events designed to highlight the strategic role of regions and cities that create an ideal environment for industrial development. The event is aimed at institutional representatives: national, regional, and public administrators; business organizations at the EU or national level; and European Commission experts. The conference will address two fundamental aspects: re-industrialization as a challenge for regional development and the regions and cities support to industrial development. The conference will take place prior to the Plenary Session of the Committee of the Regions scheduled for tomorrow and the day after.
