Apr. 16 – Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad & Sons Group (“GSSG”), a Qatari holding company, and Sirti Spa, an Italian company leader in technology for the design, installation of network infrastructure and system integration, announced that they have reached agreement for the formation of a joint venture. The latter will allow Sirti to operate projects in the MENA area, GSSG holding 51% and Sirti 49%. “This joint venture – explained Stefano Lorenzi, CEO of Sirti – is an important component of our strategy aiming at increasing our international presence. We have chosen to start with the MENA region because it is an area that is rapidly evolving in the field of infrastructure, with interesting opportunities and where we have already established references and skills. Many countries in the region are planning large projects where we believe Sirti can make a significant contribution, both in engineering and at the operational level ” The President of GSSG Holdings Qatar, Mohammed Al Hamadi, also stated: “We are delighted to be partnering with Sirti, a company internationally recognized for its leading innovative and complex projects. Our goal is to play a key role in the development of network infrastructure in the region. Sirti Mena for Projects intends to acquire projects, benefiting from the wide GSSG network and skills in the design, management and delivery of industrial systems. These will add to Sirti’s technical know-how and its many design solutions and infrastructure in diverse application areas.”
