Apr. 26 – Michele Ciacciofera, Italian artist and stage designer, is presenting his exhibition “Dessins” at Onishi Gallery in New York until May 7. In recent days, the artist has presented a preview of the show in Paris at the Galerie Luc Berthier. For years Ciacciofera devoted himself to the careful study of landscapes, with a reflection on the relationship between man and the environment. From the reading of Elias Canetti and a stay in Morocco, in 2000, he began a large series of paintings, “Marrakech”, later exposed in various Italian and French cities. The works on show in Paris are realized through the use of different techniques: watercolor, pencil, pastel and graphite with wax encaustic as a fixative and sensory means for its particular fragrance.
