Apr. 29 – Italy participates in “Coverings,” the most important event for the American tile and marble industry, with exhibitors from more than 50 countries, held today through Thursday in Atlanta. The “Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition” project displays the work of renowned architects and designers in North America who use Italian tile in their projects. A jury composed of members of the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Ceramics and the Italian Trade Commission will choose a winner for each category (residential, commercial / institutional and hospital), based on the functionality of the project, its visual impact, use of original tiles and overall design. The winning projects reflect how architects and designers are using Italian tiles in a development perspective in terms of technology, aesthetics and sustainability. The winners are awarded cash prizes and a five-day trip to Bologna to attend Cersaie 2013, the main exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings in Italy. Ceramics of Italy also gives bonuses to contractors and suppliers involved in every successful project, contributing to its final completion.
