May 8 – The artist from Brescia Paola Pezzi is presenting an original and individual interpretation of poor art using a constant metamorphosis of materials that are part of our daily lives. Many of her works are the result of a playful imagination, and were born from the assembly of many colored pencils, sometimes broken, or matches patiently placed side by side to rebuild maps and flags of European countries. This is an unusual way to pay tribute to Europe, but for Marseille, the 50 year-old artist created a piece of art that emphasizes the strong link between Italy and this great Mediterranean city: Italy is reproduced using Marseille soap. The ephemeral sculpture “Soap Italy”, made possible thanks to the collaboration of Saponificio di Savona, is at the center of the exhibition running until May 24 in the Italian Institute of Culture in Marseille.
