May 9 – Enel Green Power North America is one of the five companies that were awarded the right to participate in competitions of the U.S. Army for the supply of energy (“Power Purchase Agreements”) generated with geothermal technology. Only these five companies will be able to participate in tenders for future Army projects. The center support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center) in Huntsville, Alabama, in collaboration with the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force has recently developed a unique multi-task IDIQ contract type (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity). The particular contract will ensure reliable, local and sustainable procurement thanks to the supply of renewable energy for about 30 years, using systems developed, financed, built and operated by private companies. Thanks to the list of preferred suppliers, it will be possible to facilitate the acquisition process for future projects and speed the deployment time for the benefit of both the customer and the private businesses. “Being a pioneer in the production of geothermal energy, Enel Green Power is constantly striving to put in place new initiatives to strengthen its role as the undisputed leader of the global industry,” said Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel Green Power, who also added: “Being chosen by the United States is a clear sign of our distinction. We are proud to have the opportunity to support the efforts of the U.S. Army to achieve their clean energy goals.”
