July 24 – A Cuban delegation is currently visiting Florence for an encounter between two historical cities. The two-day event is organized by the Cuban Chamber of Commerce to develop new partnerships and strengthen the business relationships that already exist. The visit was organized with the 31st edition of the International Fair of Havana in mind, which is scheduled for November 3-9 and will host a dozen Florentine companies active in the food and wine sectors. The Cuban delegation is composed of Luis Enrique Otero Sotolongo (President Habaguanex SA), Orlando Ramos Blanco (Presidente San Cristobal SA), Tannya Sibori (Commercial Director Habaguanex SA) and Yussem Machado (San Cristobal Manager Italy srl). San Cristobal is the coordinating operator for tourism activities in Havana’s historic center and the rest of Cuba; since 1994, it offers different products from other travel agencies, and donates its proceeds to the restoration of the city’s historic center. San Cristobal is also one of the two Cuban companies authorized to work with U.S. delegations. “It’s a great opportunity for our region – explains Nicola Cecchi, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce – and a recognition of the work done by the Chamber of Commerce in recent months and the last 20 years with Cuba. The country is brilliantly moving towards a future full of rewards and stability, essential ingredients for the consolidation and development of relations between our two countries. We also like to point out that the historic Sloopy Joe Bar in Havana will be one of the venues that will join our region with the rest of the world on August 24.”
