July 29 – After 5 years of absence from the Old Continent, Francesca Gnagnarella, born in Abruzzo but Perth resident, will return to present her latest exhibition, “Rêver en couleurs,” on display August 5-18 at the Galerie des Dominicains in Nice. The young Italian artist is fresh from the success of her latest solo show in Australia, which received enthusiastic review in the Sunday Times, who declared the artist as “one of the three who will make Perth the new art capital of Australia.” “My eyes have found in Perth, Western Australia, the colors I was looking for, but Nice’s colors remain an irresistible force. For me, it is impossible to not spend one month per year in the South of France, seeking new inspirations en flânant, surrounded by the Coast’s art and magic,” explains the artist regarding her decision to exhibit in France. “Creating is nothing more remembering something that is deep in our souls and reviving it in the evanescence of the drops of color, ready to be projected into a new dimension. I think that painting helped me find the innocence that Lewis Carroll expressed so well in the Birthday-Unbirthday celebrations of Alice in Wonderland.”
