Aug. 5 – Riso Scotti lands in Spain with an agreement signed with the multinational food company Ebro Foods, Iberian firm active in the field of rice, pasta and sauces that can count on 60 brands in 25 countries across Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. For the Italian, the agreement is further confirmation of its strong presence on new international markets. Aiming at developing production and expanding its sales, the Italian firm already produces and sells in more than 60 countries worldwide. The agreement, which provides for the 25% share purchase of Riso Scotti, is “an opportunity to grow, to share knowledge and experience and create additional synergies, while preserving the identity and independence of the reality” says the company in a statement. Riso Scotti and Ebro Foods have a highly complementary product portfolio and the agreement will combine their know-how, with projects already in the pipeline to better face future market challenges and opportunities. According to Dario Scotti, president and CEO Riso Scotti SpA, “Ebro and Riso Scotti have a similar mission: search, create, produce and market high value-added food products that meet the nutritional needs of society by improving health and well-being. For us, this is a historic moment: after 153 years, the company, 100% owned by my family, opened to minority shareholders. The choice was careful and deliberate, in the desire to show new and improved industrial strength as Europe’s first rice group, in terms of next-generation product deployment. We know that we have chosen the best, and we are flattered to have been selected by the number one.”
