Sept. 13 – An Italian company will light up the Singapore F1 Grand Prix. With a completely removable system, DZ Engineering, based in Forlì, will take care of all lighting issues at the Marina Bay Street Circuit between September 20-22. For the three-day event, it takes six months of work to transport, assemble and install a structure that includes 1700 projectors, 214 km of electrical cables and 475 frames for energy distribution, 57km of optical fibers and 47 CCTV cameras for the supervision of the race headquarters. Over 530 speakers will be distributed in the audience areas as well as 500 radios. Overall, it took 160 days and hundreds of men to set everything up. Disassembly will begin on the same night of the race and will take about a month, a period that includes the writing of the extremely detailed inventory, after all materials are stored in a government-area. “The Singapore project brings together the many skills of our company. Even if the lighting of the track is the main activity, and the one for which we get the most visibility, we take care of other installations that are not less technological and complex, as they are integrated in the same CCTV , audio and radio communications infrastructure” explains Project Manager Roberto Grilli. As of this year, DZ Engineering is also responsible for Corpo Box, on whose main wall there will be, for the first time, a lighting project: “The government of Singapore – says Grilli – has launched a tender for the lighting of ten historical and tourist sites to be highlighted during the Grand Prix filming.” The government, through the global media coverage of the Formula 1 event, wants to present and let the world know about the city state of Singapore.” Thus, they will increase the visibility of certain monuments and the most important tourist attractions, creating added value for the paying audience and television viewers. From this year, the front of the Pit Building will look different thanks to our collaboration with two other Italian companies: Namaste and Drape. To see the results, all you have to do is watch the race.”
