Sept. 19 – “The first designed object that came into my house was a ‘Letter 32’, my first typewriter. The portable machine came with me on the train, giving me a job. It was a recognizable tool, it was a nice industrial product. Olivetti has entered my house. ” Author and actress Laura Curino uses these words to describe her first experience with what has now become a real cult object, so much to inspire the monologue “Olivetti, behind the dream,” written by her in 1996 with Gabriele Vacis. A story that she never gets tired of telling since the Ivrea factory closed. The actress will be back at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York on September 26 at 6pm with the show, staged in the original language with English surtitles. After the show there will be a lecture in English by Roberta Carpani, professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, entitled “The passion in a room”.
