Oct. 1 – Umbria is center stage in these days in Marseille, as guest of honor at the International Fair held in the French city until Oct. 7. The Fair organizers selected the Italian region since both Perugia and Marseille are two of the candidate cities for European Capital of Culture 2019. The Italian Pavilion will open on Oct. 3 in the presence of the representatives of the region. In addition, Umbria’s beauties will be the focus of Steve McCurry’s exhibition. Pictures from the world-renowned photographer are exhibited at the Palais des Congrès in Marseille, where viewers can admire Umbria’s magnificent scenery, its food and wine excellence and the undeniable richness of its culture. “Sensational Umbria!” is articulated in eight panels with 16 photographs by the American artist, a member of the Magnum agency since 1986 who has won numerous journalism awards.
