In Italy, there are many young people who wish to enter the culinary world, but only one of these will soon have the chance to seduce the Chinese. “From October 26 to 28, Officine Farneto of Rome will host ‘Cooking for Art’. On the final day of the event, the long-awaited final award for ‘Best Emerging Chefs of Italy in 2013’ will be assigned. The young participating chefs will be judged by a panel of experts who will have the task of selecting the best promise of the peninsula. The winner will then fly to Hong Kong for a week, where they will present their menu in a prestigious restaurant,” says Lorenza Vitali, who, along with Luigi Cremona, founded the awarda – now in its fourth edition – which aims to discover, develop, promote and “export” the talents of Italian cuisine. Both food and wine journalists with more than 20 years of experience, Vitali and Cremona are now preparing the new edition of the successful culinary event, highlighting that the winner “will represent Italy at the World Summit of Italian Cuisine in Dubai.” Bellingeri Alessandro, Marco Martini and Danilo Vita are the three participants in the competition, respectively winners of the “Best Emerging Chefs” award for Northern, Central and Southern Italy. “The initiative was born nine years ago in the South,” says the enthusiastic journalist. ” In the pipeline, there is another equally ambitious project – adds the culinary expert – we want to search for emerging Italian chefs in the world. Sao Paulo would be the ideal place to promote this new gourmet event, as Brazil has a large number of Italian immigrants. It wouldn’t be hard to find brilliant chefs of Italian origin. And, especially in light of the phenomenon of ‘new migration,’ – adds Vitali – you can now meet Italian chefs all over the world. And we’re wondering if these young chefs continue to combine quality and tradition.” Luigi Cremona was a mechanical engineer who developed a passion for gastronomy and hotels, while Lorenza Vitali is a blogger and photographer: their lives are made of colors, scents, smells, and “taste,” but above all, people, travel and territories. “We are convinced that we should promote the excellence of Italian food and wine in the world.
