Nov. 18 – Tanti Auguri, Tuca Tuca, Rumore, A far l’amore comincia tu, Fiesta, and Pedro: these are Raffaella Carrà’s most famous songs. The TV icon and showgirl, loved in Italy and abroad, releases tomorrow “Replay,” her eagerly anticipated new album. Replay, containing eleven pop dance songs with exclusive contributions with Italy’s musical giants, is not yet in record stores but is already a success across the border: ” The album has been available digitally for a few days, and is already in fifth place in Spain and eighth in Argentina,” says Max Moroldo, producer of the work. The performance also satisfied Raffaella: “It’s nice to know that thanks to new technologies you can promote your work by staying at home. I’m not Britney Spears and I do not sing like Mina; I don’t care for rankings, sales and concerts: I just want to give a little lightness,” says the singer and presenter. The years pass but for her time has stood still: her passion for the job remained the same. The determination, enthusiasm, even her blonde bob are always the same: Sincere, genuine, and simple Raffaella Carrà presented to the press her album, released under the independent label Diy Italy. “My mom always said, ‘if you want to do something, do it right so you have to do it only once.’ And this has been my motto since the beginning of my career; I have always worked with shrewdness and precision. I know that maybe today there was no need for a new Carrà album – adds Raffaella with a hint of irony – but I decided to do this is to share a moment of joy, to let us forget for a moment about the problems, to give a little euphoria. This album is an invitation to let go.” “Replay” comes 13 years since her last solo album: “I had fun making a completely new record; there’s a bit of what people have come to expect of me, but there’s also more. Kind of like an “updated” version, more modern and carefree, because I’m no longer haunted by the idea of being number one.” But Carrà doesn’t forget the undeniable success of some of her older hits. A Far l’Amore Comincia Tu was recently remixed by Bob Sinclari, and the success confirms her timeless charm. “I – she admits – do not love to sing: for me singing is just a completion of my communication mechanisms. Of course I like it but only if the piece allows me to move. Essentially, I’d like to retire.” But that is something that will have to wait, as the showgirl has many projects in the pipeline for the coming months: “in December, I will go to the Philippines, where I sponsor a child, then I’ll embark on promotional tour in Spain. I will probably make an appearance at this year’s Sanremo Festival, conducted by Fazio. And I’ll also be a vocal coach in ‘The Voice’. And who knows, maybe I will have a program of my own by the end of the year.”
