Nov. 18 – Umbria’s food and wine are a hit among Eataly’s American audience, which until Nov. 30, offers a wide selection of Italian food and wine in New York to 7 million “visitors” per year. To accompany the delicacies of the region, there will be the photographers of the region’s suggestive landscapes and hidden corners taken by Steve McCurry during a long stay in Umbria. “It’s a very good program – commented Dino Borri, top manager for Eataly – Umbria is presented here with a series of products that are, in their variety, perfect for the American market: legumes, barley, truffles, all of which have met the favor of customers. Every month, we hold promotional initiatives with Italian regions, but with Umbria there is a special relationship in the sense that Umbrians entrepreneurs or representatives of institutions understand what we do here, our philosophy. In Umbria there are people who have a passion for food and wine, with a modern vision of how they are to be presented and promoted. This is the same philosophy behind Eataly, the promotion of local products and modern cuisine techniques: a glocal philosophy focusing on territorial products.”
