Nov. 20 – Crowdrooster was founded by three young entrepreneurs from Lombardy: Alessandro Rovati, Francesco Fumagalli and Francesco Gatti. Crowdrooster, based in London’s Techcity, combines microfinance with retail, and gives consumers the power to subvert commercial logic by buying today the products of tomorrow. The website, enriched by the dynamism of e-commerce, has launched six international projects, among which one born from the creativity of the Italian “artistic skateboard” brand, Atypical, and one from the eclectic Florence “workshop,” Experience de Vita. The six projects need a total of £135,000 in “collective funds” to become reality. “What began as a simple idea for an e-commerce app powered by crowd-funding quickly turned into a full-fledged community in which designers and innovators can meet and have access to funding, advice and support for their projects – explains Alessandro Rovati, “our ambition is to see Crowdrooster establish itself as reliable source of capital for businesses and play a key role in the realization of future products, ahead of market trends.” Established in 2013, Crowdrooster is a mix of crowd-funding and e-commerce, a community that aims to promote a new business logic by offering businesses and innovators a meeting and communication platform with consumers choosing to buy products of the future. Unlike other crowd-funding sites, Crowdrooster favors the creative spirit of the brand, not the individual project. On the platform, consumers can invest their capital in technology products and newly developed design objects. In return, they will be the first own the products come the market launch. The products featured on Crowdrooster were examined by a committee of experts to verify their production feasibility and to ensure a higher completion rate.
