Dec. 5 – Bi -City is the only biennial exhibition in the world to be exclusively devoted to issues of urbanism and urbanization; its fifth edition will be held in Shenzhen, China, from tomorrow until February 28, 2014. And Veneto will be present. The region will present “La Piave,” a project of the IUAV University of Venice to promote a new pedestrian and bicycle path along the Piave river banks. “220 kilometers of history, culture, legends and traditions have no more secrets to bikers,” said the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, noting that “the Piave is such an important resource in the region that the creation of a bike path was inevitable for the development of our country. With the right resources, we can create paths that are unique in the world, not only because of the beauty of our land, but also thanks to eco- innovative tourism services.” Zaia also points out that ” Veneto is the first tourist region in Italy (with 62,351,657 overnight stays in 2012) and sixth in Europe. We are working hard on this front because it is a an economic engine for its employment potential. I am certain that a project like ‘La Piave’ would fit perfectly in this context, with its unique and contemporary aspects.”
