Jan. 1 – What happens if fantasy, comics and most beloved cartoon characters meet with most famous Italian pastry chefs? Unique recipes are born. And when these recipes catch the attention of an editor, that’s when an original cookbook for children is born: “Siamo tutti pasticcioni.” The book does not go unnoticed: voted the best cookbook for kids in 2013 “Siamo tutti pasticcioni” is edited by Italian Gourmet, through The Walt Disney Company, in collaboration with Ampi, the Italian pastry chefs academy. The committee of the Gourmand World Cookbooks Award 2013, an international award that each year awards the “Oscars” of culinary publishing industry, gave “Siamo tutti pasticcioni” the prize for best book in the Italian cookbooks for children category. The book is now shortlisted for “The Best in the World” recognition, which will be announced in Bejing in May during the Annual Awards ceremony during the Bejing Cookbook Fair scheduled for May 19-21. The Gourmand Cookbooks Award is the highest recognition in the culinary publishing industry since 1997; and the event which will take place in China demonstrates the organizers’ desire to give more space and greater prestige to the event.
