Jan. 6 – During 2013, Enel Green Power has consolidated its presence in the United States by opening the Cove Fort plant. The geothermal power plant is the first EGP structure in the State of Utah, and it is just the latest achievement for the Group. It is a medium-enthalpy geothermal system plant, with an innovative binary cycle technology and an installed capacity of 25 MW. The plant required a total investment of 126 million dollars, but it is now able to generate up to 160 GWh per year. Plant Cove Fort is also associated with a twenty-year contract for the purchase of the produced energy.
