Feb. 14 – Legumes and bread, cheese and cold cuts: typical products and dishes from the province of Matera are ready to convince an American audience of their uniqueness. The traditional and genuine recipes will head to New York in the second half of March in a special mission supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Matera. The promotion of local products is part of a promotional project that involves the Chamber of Commerce, the Local Action Group “Le Macine” and the Rural District of the Hills and Mountains of Matera. The program provides for the marketing of agro-food products, food and wine from Matera and of the area’s uniqueness in the U.S. market, particularly in New York. The mission involves two events in Italian restaurants: the first is scheduled at the Marco Polo restaurant, with tastings and B2B meetings with selected buyers, distributors, importers, restaurateurs, and journalists. The second event will take place Di Palo ‘s Fine Foods, where – for a whole week – there will be a food display. The two initiatives will be implemented with the technical and logistical support of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in New York.
