Mar. 11 – If in the Chinese calendar 2014 is the year of the horse, in the market of luxury sports cars 2014 is the year of the Trident. Maserati’s extraordinary success coincides with the centenary of the company’s foundation in Bologna December 1, 1914. In Italy, Maserati has registered 228 units between January and February – an increase of 1100 % over the same period last year. Just as significant are the figures in the rest of Europe, with increased sales in all the main European markets (Benelux, France, Germany, UK, Spain and Switzerland) for a total of 854 units registered in the first two months of 2014, with an average increase of 698% over the same period last year. The Ghibli was the best selling model (65% of total sales), with a split Diesel/Gasoline of 60/40%. The results for January corroborate the positive trend with which Maserati closed 2013, when Maserati delivered a total of 15,400 vehicles, for a 148% increase compared to 2012, thanks to the success of the Quattroporte and the Ghibli, launched during the year. And the dream that began with Officine Alfieri Maserati certainly wont’ end here.
