Tokyo – ICE, Aschimfarma and CPA – Italy have teamed up to organize our country’s collecting participation to CPhI Japan, hosted at Tokyo Big Sight until Friday. Japan is the second market for pharmaceutical products, at an estimated worth of $87 billion by 2014. Japanese imports from Italy recently spiked, increasing by 23,9% in 2012 (well over the sectoral import average for Japan, 10,7%. Demographic changes in Japan led the government to implement policies facilitating foreign investments in the industry. The government thus seeks to promote national pharmaceutical distribution, aiming at 30% of market shares. The last edition of the fair saw the participation of 400 companies and 16000 visitors.
