Atlanta – The ICE Agency for the promotion and internationalization of Italian firms is organizing, in collaboration with Acimit, Italy’s collective participation in Techtextil North America, which will take place in Atlanta, United States, May 13-15. The U.S. is an important market for Italy’s textile machinery industry: the first 11 months of 2013 saw Italy export €63 million worth of machinery to the US, for a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2012. Italy accounts for 12% of total US imports in the sector, making it the second largest supplier of textile technology to the US, after Germany. In the United States, a growing part of textile production is oriented towards technical and non- woven textiles. Indeed, thanks to new breakthroughs, this ‘new’ textile industry in North America is growing fast and is profitable. The fair will thus bring interesting commercial opportunities for Italian companies, thanks to the wide range of possible applications of these new materials. (9Colonne)
