Nairobi – The Floating Mobile Hospital project, designed and built by Professor Luigi Gentilini and by the Med e Med non-profit organization, will build a ship on Lake Victoria to provide health care to the people of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The interest in the initiative has grown over time, so much so that Rwanda and Burundi expressed their intention to support the project, alongside the members of the East Africa Community (EAC). The ship’s name is Levina Italia, in memory of Sister Levina, director of the cultural center of Lake Victoria and one of the first to believe in the project, who died a few years ago. (9Colonne)
