Rio de Janeiro – In South Tyrol there are companies capable of transforming the natural obstacles of the territory in a business opportunity. The transport sector has become a real economic resource and is today an example of the regional entrepreneurial and innovation spirit of local companies. In the Bolzano province alternatives to traditional transportation are being developed, encouraging innovation also to preserve the natural landscape that attracts millions of tourists from all over Europe. The same South Tyrolean cable cars are used today in Rio de Janeiro, where they connect various parts of the Brazilian megalopolis, and in Oakland, California, where the Austrian company headquartered in Bolzano Doppelmayr will complete within the year a new light rail that moves on rails with a cable system.
