Paris – Fabriano chose Paris to celebrate its 750 years of success, with a show that features works of art created on Fabriano paper by artists such as Michelangelo, Roy Lichtenstein, Beethoven, Francis Bacon or Fellini, collected in museums and archives around the world. From now until June 21, the works will remain on display at the Hotel de Galliffet, headquarters of the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris: original cards, medieval watermarks, original documents from the 19th and 20th centuries, historical artifacts… Modernity is represented with banknote production techniques and materials to create watermarks. An area is also dedicated to the relationship between paper and the arts, through the presentation of works of great artists such as Bruno Munari, who worked on Fabriano paper. The festivities also include, from today until May 23, a week of workshops to explore paper manufacturing, engraving, water coloring, calligraphy and drawing techniques, and a session dedicated to the children on May 21. In addition, the celebrations will include the opening of the first Fabriano store in France, in the heart of Paris. (9Colonne)
