May 30 – “Accabadora” is the novel that won the Campiello Prize in 2010. Written by Michela Murgia, the title is in Sardinian dialect and means “she who ends.” The novel tells the story of the old Bonaria, young Maria and their special bond in Sardinia, where life and death are never individual dimensions. The novel finally arrives to the Czech Republic, where the author will be a guest of the Italian Institute of Culture in Prague to present the book translated in Czech by Marina Feltlová (Prague/Litomyšl, Paseka 2014). The event will take place on June 10 at 6pm in the conference hall of the institute. Promoted in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society and the publisher Paseka, the event is also supported by the “Kultura” Program and the restaurant Bisos. In April, “Accabadora” was selected as Book of the Month by the Czech iLiteratura website.
