June 11 – “A few years ago I began training for the triathlon, it’s hard but I like it very much. For the 24 Hours, Audi will follow us with the medical team of the German national ski, so our physical and mental preparation is top notch, and we can handle the 24 Hours.” Marco Bonanomi is the Italian pilot chosen by Audi Motorsport to compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, on Saturday June 14. After Emanuele Pirro and Dindo Capello, Bonanomi will share driving the Audi R18 e-tron four with the Portuguese Felipe Albuquerque and the Brit Oliver Jarvis. The 31-year-old Lecco native has been an Audi driver since 2011: he won with the GT R8 LMS and has been test driver for the R18 TDI. In 2012 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, arriving in third place. Last year he won the 24 Hours of Zolder with the R8 Ultra. Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport, chose Bonanomi as tester for the development of the R18 e-tron four, to then promote him to official pilot for the 6 Hours in Spa.
