June 24 – The best of Italy flies to London July 19-21 for Bellavita Expo London, the largest international trade show dedicated to the excellence of Made in Italy in the food sector. The event will be held in the Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, close to London’s financial center, now the most innovative area for fashion, art, food and design. The event gathers Italy’s top wine and food experts, as well as more than 200 companies. Luca Gardini, Best Sommelier in 2010, and Fausto Arrighi, food critic and director of the Michelin Guides between 2005 and 2012, will be the “ambassadors” of Made in Italy in London during the event. They will host a number of conferences, lectures and workshops to better introduce Italy’s excellence in the field. The two general themes are “Wine passion ” and “The ways of taste.” Master classes, wine tastings and live cooking presentation will also enrich the event, for which more than a thousand people have already signed up, including buyers such as Harrods, Selfridges and Tesco. Bellavita Expo London will be the perfect stage to introduce Italy’s wine industry, including the Best Italian Wine Awards, a ranking of the top 50 Italian wines by Gardini designed in collaboration with some of the most important professionals and opinion leaders in the Italian and international wine scene. During the event, Enoscuola Gardini will also take place: the sommelier will bring wine to the public and disseminate the concept of “everyday tasting” thanks to a modern approach through which anyone can learn to read and learn about wine. Fausto Arrighi will be accompanied by Filippo Chiappini Dattilo, star chef of the restaurant “Antica Osteria del Teatro” in Piacenza, and Agostino Iacobucci of the restaurant “I Portici” in Bologna for one cooking show to highlight the added value and uniqueness of Italian products.
