(Jul. 1st) The historic Carpenè Malvolti, historic winemaker from Conegliano, opened the season with a long series of national and international awards, after the success in the Berlin Wine Trophy, in which the 1868 Extra Dry Prosecco Superiore DOCG was awarded the gold medal, and the Concours International de Bruxelles, in which the 1868 Cartizze scored a silver. “The trump card – according to the Company – was the 1868 Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Cartizze, who nailed a series of important awards in competitions held in the United Kingdom: a silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards and at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, an honorable mention at the International Wine Challenge and another silver at the Prosecco Masters, also in England.” Two more international awards, in this case overseas, came with the gold medal at the Selections Mondiales des Vins Canada and the bronze medal at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. Excellent results also for the 1868 Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry, that got the most precious metal in the competition Douja d’Or and two silvers at the San Francisco International Wine Competition and Prosecco Masters in England. From across the Channel came also three bronze medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards, International Wine & Spirit Competition and the International Wine Challenge. Great protagonist on the international stage is also the Rosé Brut, who brought home a silver medal in the prestigious competition Mondial du Rosé held in France. (Red)
