New York – Today, in the context of the Mission in the United States, Ministry of Agricultural Food and Forestry Policies Maurizio Martina met with Secretary of agriculture Tom Vilsack. The first topic was the new commercial partnership agreement between the EU and the US in reference to the protection of geographical indications and the contrast of counterfeiting with more incisive action since prohibition of evocation. The two Ministers agreed on the strategic value of the deal to be reached, on which the Italian Presidency will be strongly committed to advance constructively in negotiations. Minister Martina then invited Secretary Vilsack at the World Forum of Ministers of Agriculture to be held in Milan next June, during the Expo 2015. (9colonne)
