Sao Paulo – Friuli Venezia Giulia’s development cooperation and international partnership program 2014-17 activities, promoted by Councilor Gianni Torrenti and approved by the Regional Council, has a budget of €500.000. The program is based on a synergistic approach with the policies of other Italian Regions, the State and the European Union so as to reduce the fragmentation risk and consequent waste of resources. “We will operate – said Commissioner Torrento – mainly in South East Europe and Latin America (Brazil and Argentina) to support political and social dialogue, political and administrative decentralization, the protection of the rights human and equal opportunities. We also aim to enhance the planning and management of essential services, such as health and social care, water, energy, transport and logistics. Finally, we seek to promote participatory democracy processes.” (9Colonne)
