Aug. 18 – It’s a record for Ferrari in Monterey, California. An auction held by Bonhams sold a Ferrari 250 GTO, chassis number 3851 GT, for $38.115 million (about €28.5 million). This GTO was the 19th Ferrari ever built, and was first sold on September 11, 1962. Originally in metallic gray, it had three longitudinal stripes in red, white and blue, recreating the French flag of its first owner, French Formula 1 driver Jo Schlesser. The car was also part of the Maranello Rosso Collection by Fabrizio Violati. (Red)
