Aug. 27 – A 15-city tour with internationally renowned authors (including Valerio Massimo Manfredi, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and Paolo Mieli), joined by an imaginary common thread that is water: this is the cultural journey in which books become ambassadors testify to Italy’s union with other countries (Britain, France, USA, Paraguay, Argentina, Montenegro, Hungary, Greece and India). Organized by the Water’s Friends Association, “Libri d’acqua” focuses on Italy’s national identity, creating a network of international relations among authors, books and cities, and “emphasizing its most significant water spots.” Vera Slepoj, creator of “Libri d’acqua,” presented the initiative in Rome, announcing that the traveling show will stop in Venice, touching the shores of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Adriatic Riviera, before arriving in Lampedusa and setting sail for the Seine and the Thames. The next editions will have the event start in March and end in December, touching various European capitals.
