Cologne – The exhibit opens on Friday, September 5 at 7pm at the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne. “The great country” is a show put together by Milanese artist Giovanni Cerri, who dedicated it to an epochal crisis that highlights difficulties, contradictions and disorientations. Painting becomes the classical heritage of a civilization that was great in bygone eras and is now consumed. Fragments of ancient Greek-Roman statues become the remains of a remote history that the energy of the industrial era has cancelled.
