Sept. 15 – Azerbaijan holds ample opportunities for made in Italy, reveals a “Country Presentation” recently held by the Internationalization Center of the Verona Chamber of Commerce with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Vaqif Sadiqov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy, and Azerbaijani Economic Adviser Fuad Farzalibayov presented an overview of the country’s business opportunities in front of 65 companies in the construction, marble, furniture and furnishings, agriculture, and wine and food machinery sectors. “Azerbaijan is an interesting outlet close to the Russian market, – said in a statement the Verona Chamber of Commerce -. It’s a country of modest size, of 87.000 square kilometers with 9.3 million inhabitants, but its demand is sustained by its oil and natural gas reserves. The former republic of the Soviet Union on the Caspian Sea, bordering Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, and even Turkey, extracted oil for the first time in 1849, in Baku. To date, Caspian oil, its natural gas fields and gold and silver mines are the main wealth of the country.”
