Sept. 16 – The Italian Jazz Series Festival, an event promoted by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington DC, will take over the historic Blues Alley club of Georgetown, alternating on stage five internationally renowned musicians. On Sept. 22 guitarist Fabrizio Sotti; on Sept. 23, singer and pianist Daniela Schachter; on Sept. 24, saxophonist Marco Pignataro; and on Sept. 29 drummer Gianluca Pellerito and bassist Marco Panascia. “Italian music isn’t only opera or classical music – said Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero – Thanks to this initiative, audiences can also get to know our jazz culture. The performers are five young talents that have already made a name for themselves, and at Blues Alley they will feel right at home.”
