Oct. 13 – As the European tour continues in Zurich and Vienna, the Vinitaly International Academy is already preparing for its next international engagement in Melbourne, on October 26 and 27. The best of Italy’s wine production will attend Vinitaly Down Under, which inaugurates its second edition this year. The event, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Melbourne in collaboration with Veronafiere, is funded by the Ministry of Economic Development within the project Italian Wine Meets Australia. It seeks to promote Italian wines via events dedicated to professionals in the industry, operators and the general public. The days will be marked by the Executive Wine Seminars, all at the advanced level, which will open on October 26 with the theme “Italy’s greatest wines from the country’s best producers.” The next day, the focus will be on “The many different landscapes and wines of Barolo” and the analysis of the peculiarities of each biotype of wine, depending on the diversity of territories and geological formations, by the scientific director Ian D’Agata. A seminar on the “Great Grapes Varieties and Wines from Friuli Venezia Giulia” will follow, in which the most important wineries in Friuli will be discussed. The event will be an opportunity for importers to meet the producers and thus throw a glance from a privileged position on the most prestigious regional wines. (Cle)
