Oct. 22 – RAI brought its best to Budapest, and it received four awards in return. Document Art 2014, the Hungarian documentary festival, founded with the purpose of bringing to Budapest a selection of the best and most innovative work in the field of documentaries, saw RAI win the “Best film on Art” award for the Rai Cultura documentary on “Alessandro Mendini, il teatro degli oggetti,” directed by Christian Angeli. Set in Milan, the documentary sheds light on the creative process of architect, designer and artist Alessandro Mendini. “A design object is a character: it must be seen and it must provoke a thought,” says Alessandro Mendini, one of the most famous contemporary artists of our time. His objects have a soul and a body, and live in contemporary society. The task of the documentary is to tell their story in everyday life through the words of their creator, Mendini, the interpretation of a great mime, Julien Lambert, and the comments of Alberto Fiz, Anna Gili and Gualtiero Marchesi.
