New York – Following the success of the first two editions, “In Scena! Italian Theatre Festival NY,” the first Italian theater festival will take over New York’s five boroughs. The third edition starts now, with the submission until December 15 and consequent selection of the proposals to be presented in New York May 4-20, 2015. The festival will take place in various locations: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island as well as other towns outside of New York. Submissions are divided into three sections: Performances, Translated Readings and Premio Mario Fratti. The first category will stage shows based on Italian pieces, already presented in Italy but unpublished in New York; the second includes readings from Italian authors translated into English, also previously unpublished in New York. The Premio Mario Fratti category awards a specia prize to a previously unpublished Italian play, which will be presented in the reading section of the Festival. (9Colonne)
