(Nov. 7) Wine and sustainability are a winning combination for Italian production. The Forum for the environmental sustainability of wine is absolutely convinced of this, and thus presented the first national report that aims to spread a new sensitivity towards this product – symbol of Italian culture. In the context of promoting the environmental sustainability of Italian wine, Professor Lorenzo Zanni will speak at the New School in New York, on November 10th, of the potential positive effects of the spread of a new business model for Italian wine, which places sustainability at the center of improved marketing results, especially in countries with markets increasingly interested in quality products. Zanni, Professor of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Siena, is one of the authors of the recent report sponsored by the Forum for the sustainability of wine, which presents a new approach for the wine market, revolving around quality in a production system that enhances the environmental and social development. As emphasized by the Forum, “The Report 2014, downloadable at www.vinosostenibile.org, represents an important synthesis of the innovative proposals within the Italian sector, both in terms of cultural science and technology. Policy makers and stakeholders can now use the report as general guidelines and proposals to develop the market.” (Red)
