Nov. 19 – “‘Napulìa’ goes on stage in Dublin’s Sugar Club, bringing with it a journey into Neapolitan song writing: from 17th century ballads revisited by the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, to Murolo’s poignant songs… And of course, great artists such as Carlo Faiello, Teresa De Sio and Pino Daniele will not be ignored. I embark on this beautiful new adventure with Argentine guitarist Adriàn Fioramonti,” comments on her Facebook page Anna Maria Castelli, while announcing tonight’s gig at Sugar Club. The singer and actress from Naples – who has extensive experience in concerts abroad and a notable discography – performs “Napulìa,” a musical event dedicated to Neapolitan song promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture of Dublin. Anna Maria Castelli and guitarist Adriàn Fioramonti will bring the audience on a journey across Neapolitan song history, performing new versions of traditional songs. They will reinterpret a selection of unforgettable hits from the 17th century of 1600 made famous by the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare and more contemporary songs by Carlo Faiello, Teresa De Sio, Roberto Murolo and Pino Daniele. The performance will be a journey to discover the history and poetry of Naples.
