Philadelphia – “This is good news for Piedmont’s health system and it should make us proud,” commented the regional councilor Antonio Saitta the news of the recognition bestowed by the prestigious scientific journal Lancet Neurology to Professor Adriano Chiò of the University of Turin. Chiò is head of the Regional Centre for ALS at the City of Health, and he was the subject of a profile and a focus on the latest advances in neuroimaging applied to ALS. Professor Chiò coordinated researchers of the Italsgen Consortium, who in recent months identified a gene, called Matrin3, which helps understand what triggers ALS. (9Colonne)
