Moscow – Italian exports to Russia fell by 23.2% in November, reveals an analysis of Coldiretti based on ISTAT data on foreign trade. If the trend continues, by the end of the year Italy will have lost at least €1.2 billion in 2014 as a result of the collapse of the ruble that makes it less convenient to purchase abroad, but also for the effect of the embargo and political tensions that have hampered trade. “The collapse of fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses imports from Italy has triggered in Russia – reports Coldiretti – a real boom in the local production of fake Italian products, like ‘Casa Italia’ salami and mozzarella, ‘Buona Italia’ salad, Robiola Unagrande, Milan mortadella and Pirpacchi parmesan.”(9Colonne)
