Dec. 23 – To increase the competitiveness of the Alpine Euroregion Tyrol-Alto Adige-Trentino territories, and thus encourage development and growth, the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, which includes the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and the Land Tirol, decided to establish an Euregio Fund for research. The goal is to promote inter-regional projects at the international level thanks to an annual budget of €1.1 million. “The objective of the Euregio Fund is to stimulate research – reads a note of the Autonomous Province of Trento – and strengthen collaboration between researchers from Trentino, Alto Adige and Tyrol, thus promoting exchanges, activities and debates. We want to improve the quality of the activities carried out by research centers. For this purpose, a special fund for the mobility of students and teachers will have a budget of €100.000. A scientific committee will have the task of identifying at least one joint project for each of the areas of research: natural / technological / medical and humanistic / legal / sociological. Thanks to constant evaluation, priority will be given to those projects submitted by partners from all three territories.”(Red)
