Dec. 26 – Multifaceted “musicattore” Luigi Maio will perform his very special “Histoire du Soldat” on January 25 at 3pm at the Italian Cultural Institute in London. For the commemoration of the centenary of the First World War, Maio tells the story of a soldier in search of a homeland, who is ensnared by Old Nick (to whom he will sell his violin, aka his soul). The famous showman from Genoa will play the role of the soldier, Satan, the narrator and the princess, in a profound reflection on the folly of war spiced with humor and theatrical magic. In the show, Maio, violin in hand, also pays tribute to an illustrious co-citizen, Niccolò Paganini.
