Jan. 8 – It’s going to be a unique experience for the twenty Insubria students, from Como and Varese, that will visit Japan. Enrolled in the Department of Law Economics and Culture (Didec), their visit is part of the “Didec va in Giappone” project promoted by Professor Giorgio Maria Zamperetti. The trip will take place May 19-30 and is open to Como and Varese students enrolled in the Law, Tourism Sciences, Foreign Languages and Legal Disciplines departments of the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria. The university has been teaching Japanese since 2007 thanks to an initiative by Professor Zamperetti and Professor Giuseppe Colangelo of the Tourism Sciences course, now vice-dean. The journey, intended as “roadshow”, is sponsored by the Italy-Japan Foundation, an organization formed in 1998 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop and deepen relations between the two countries and to promote Italy in Japan through cultural, scientific and economic initiatives. In addition to cultural visits and naturalistic walks on the Tokyo – Kyoto – Hiroshima – Osaka trail, the visiting students will witness typical experiences of Japanese life, such as participation in a tea ceremony, a sumo match, bathing in onsen (hot springs). They will also take part in formal meetings to promote the image of the University of Insubria and Didec abroad. (Red)
