Washington – The national president of the Vatican Foundation “Nazareth International Family Centre,” Salvatore Martinez, will be in Washington from tomorrow until February 5, to take part in the 63rd edition of the National Prayer Breakfast, which will be held at the Hilton Hotel of Washington DC. As in previous years, the meeting will be attended by US President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, the main representatives of the executive, legislative, and judiciary bodies, and members of the international diplomatic community. Over 2,000 guests from 150 countries will meet to exchange views on current global issues, improving international collaboration on solidarity, development and human promotion projects. “We meet every year in Washington – said Martinez – to cultivate a ‘diplomacy of friendship’, the same ‘culture of encounter’ advocated by Pope Francis and founded on the high values of the Gospel for a new social humanism.” (9Colonne)
